I guess they aren't that bad. I realized they're at Soundwave and I could get into these guys with a few listens. Point is if I do I'll be super pissed off because they're on at the same time as Isis which is a band who I wouldn't pass up over anyone else.

I'm excited to hear this album...The single's fuckin' amazing.
|

Yeah, the single is really good, but there are better tracks on this than that.

Review is excellent, and I agree on the rating... mine will be coming later on or after the weekend, depends on a few things. The way Pierre comes up with those awesome cyclic vocal melodies seemingly at will never ceases to amaze me.
|
| |
Thank you. I definitely agree! Just when I think that he's exhausted his repertoire, he comes up with something even better or at least on par with his past melodies. I noticed your ratings are gone?

Yeah had a flick through them the other day and realised they're all fucked up, gonna start over. Here is an alright place to start... after this listen.

Oh, I gotcha. Does that not delete your soundoffs too?

Yah I think so... had all my 5s saved though.

I'm glad you liked it man. Wow, two people already 5'd this.

lol that's because they're stupid.
|
| |
Yeah, I'm guessing their ratings will drop in due time. I doubt this could ever break out of a four for me, and at the same time, go below a four as well.
It's the kind of album that makes me want to play through their other records again too, as if everything they've done sounds better just because of this.

Yeah, its always weird for me to see classic ratings on a new release. A five for me is when i really get to know the album well and connect with it on a deeper level (or if its a Tomas Kalnoky album it gets an auto 5)
|
| |
Yeah, my fives took at least 4 months each - a couple of them even took years to get to that rating.
|

I still need to listen to this, I hope Justin's lyrics have gone back to what they used to be, because
I can't enjoy any MCS that doesn't have self-deprecating humor, no matter how catchy it is.
edit: rules

The lyrics are a summation of the band's past stuff, just like the sound. There's a lot that you will love here, Adam.

this really reminds me of I am the Movie

"way back in '99, I beat the Ocarina Of Time"
Justin Pierre dropped a zelda reference.
nuff said.

I got more of a Commit This To Memory feel. You liking it? "Skin and Bones" and "Delirium" are probably my favorites.
