Alright that's fair enough. I'm sorry you don't enjoy it that much.

It's not that I didn't enjoy it, it was a good listen, it's just that I don't find it to be anything special. At least not yet.

Alright, I see what you mean. I guess I missed out on the emotional level of the first or something, because I was never amazed by the whole thing. "In The Failing Hour" amd "The Black Lodge" were certainly stunning tracks though.

this is nowhere close to TSD

Also the fact that they say "Fuck" numerous times in the album makes it feel childish and silly, which for me drastically takes away from its credibility because for them to resort to swearing in their lyrics, despite what they were probably going for, takes away from the aggression. Using swears in your lyrics should be left to nu-metal, deathcore and rap.

fucking fuck crysis, don't you know that fuck is the fucking most emotional fucking word ever?

fuck, fucking no ones fucking disagreeing

I guess I have to disagree with the use of that word in the lyrics being bad as a lot of great bands do it, like The National or Radiohead. As long as it doesn't distract from the album than I don't see why it would hurt the music. However, since it does for you than I can understand why it might lower your opinion of the music. To each his own.

My thoughts exactly.
Good review, btw, forgot to say that.

Thank you, I really appreciate it.
From the initial looks of it, it seems I may be writing as an outlier for sputnik. I really hope other people like it though.

well cussing in melodic death metal, power metal, etc is kind of annoying. i dont mind it in indie, rap, punk, or hardcore

It shouldn't really matter if you go against the grain or not, this is a website where anyone can submit whatever opinion they want. As often as it doesn't seem like people are welcome to other viewpoints (which is almost all of the time), when it comes down to it it's all just opinion.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I don't know, I just thought more would like it. Anyway, its still very early, so maybe users will in the future.

the problem is IM came out with this stellar prog-death album that rivaled the overrated titans of the genre (even though opeth aren't prog death just sayin'). TSD showcased a ton of talent and promise of a band that could be amazing, and this album feels like they got stuck up with that spirit and didn't feel like taking it anywhere, just recycling the last album's ideas

hm to check this out or to not
|

Norway has In Vain, Sweden has Im Mourning and Finland has Ikuinen Kaamos. Who will win the Scandinavian prog death 2010 award?
