Same for me, and the ones I saw him play live of course, but seeing the tracks live gave me a newfound appreciation for this.

With so many people complaining about bands remaking the same album and same sound over and over again, it's wonderful to see a band like Nine Inch Nails so successfully compose a release that deviates so overtly from previous material. Up until this, nothing Trent produced after 'The Fragile' caught my interest, because it felt like he was stripping down his sound until he had this horribly generic rock band sound. After reconstructing his sound, it feels as if his body of work has achieved some sort of cogency, even if it was proceeded by The Slip.

Wow, geogaddi, what did you think of Year Zero?

I think that TR's sounds are always - always - innovative, even when his songwriting is not, so I naturally love most things he does even if I know objectively things are sometimes 3.5/5.

Ghosts is an essential NIN album, IMO, and has all the elements (sans singing) and emotions that span NIN's career.

A very unique album, each song from all parts flow together very nicely to make this album a pleasure to listen to, more so if it's in the background while you're doing something else.

Yeah, I sometimes stare up at my all white ceiling for 2 hours and see the brush lines in the paint. It produces about the same effect as this album.

Yeah, maybe someday I'll appreciate "4 Discs of Some Random and Incomplete Demo Takes and Unfinished Ideas That Were Mostly Throwaways and Didn't Go Anywhere Far Enough to Even Form Songs for Year Zero and It's Really Not An Album Anyway It's More of a Compilation for NIN Fans for Intrigues Sake and Nothing Else: The Album" a little more.

Idk, I think Trent's best instrumental work is with Atticus on the soundtracks they've

done for Fincher's last two greats.

I haven't listened to all tracks yet, but good instrumental album like soundtrack so far. 27th track is impressive.

Like a few others here, this is the official soundtrack to all my essays, papers, articles and dissertations. Best shit ever.

Great instrumental work, really ambient, and as stated before by Prophet178, it's perfect for writing essays for school.
