More people should know about his time in Rainbow really, although I'm sure his death will have contributed to that a bit already.

^Rising and Long Live Rock & Roll wipe the floor with this though.

Yeah I agree, I meant the whole Dio era when I said "early" Rainbow. This still rules though.

I got that. This definitely has great moments but it's not quite rocking hard enough.

Man On The Silver Mountain, Catch The Rainbow, Sixteenth Century Greensleeves and Still I'm Sad are classic, claasic Rainbow tunes. Very good. Some fillers in here as well. But the best of the album is very good.

I don't get the lack of love for Temple of the King. Really don't. Great review, definitely agree that Rising's lineup was far more talented and the album superior.

can't see how snake charmer and if... are essnetial listening ahead of Temple... and Black sheep... I would say that If... is the weakest track on the album and maybe the three Dio albums.

Great album, Rising is a lot better though.

This album makes me think how close to Blackmore's mind was a medieval project similar to Blackmore's Night back then.
Even though I like Blackmore's Night I'm glad he chose Dio back then.
