Of all the people who may have reviewed this, I was certainly not expecting robertsona lol.

I was into jazz in high school and then REALLY into it in college because I DJ'd jazz on vinyl for quite a few hours a week--and my college's radio station is a well-listened one that mostly plays jazz for old men. Big fan big fan. I think this is the only avant jazz I've reviewed, but I also have pieces on Monk, Bird, Miles, Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Jordan/John Gilmore

Nice nice. Should clarify that I in no way meant my previous comment as a slight, I just haven’t much experience with your ahem jazzier takes. I was shocked this had a review at all, tbh (but not at all shocked we are still on Page 2 lol).

John Cage is fucking insane and nets a standalone 5/5

one fun thing to keep in mind is that there's some controversy around the dedications for side a, with the printed tracklist differing from braxton's own notes
maybe an issue with my imagination, but track 2 doesn't seem very cagean... so i've wondered if that's the real cecil taylor

"John Cage" is worth the price of entry and I like it when things get chill too
the last (very long) track is an endurance test tho, blimey put me out of my misery already
