Both La Gargola and The North Corridor were quite the return to form. Sci-Fi Crimes and Hats Off just feel more relatively subdued compared to the rest of their work

this is my favorite of theirs. Their recent albums tend to blend together for me so lack of stand out melodies i guess.

I think you and I have a different definition of interesting. I mean, I like La Gargola a lot too. But the general heaviness of North Corridor personally appeals to me more.

Letter from a Thief, Sleep Apnea, Mexican Sun, Roswell’s Spell, Shameful Metaphors...all some of their best songs.
The Sci fi-Hats-Gargola is their best stretch imo. I consider Hats to be top tier Chevelle, which most don’t seem to agree with.

Yeah! Letters is so damn catchy.
I will give Hats another go in the future. It's been a while since I have listened to it all the way through, but as of last time I was not super fond of it. Right now I just have 3 songs I like to revisit (T/t, Ruse,Face tothe Floor) and I usually just leave the rest for another day that doesn't ever seem to come.

Hats has always been my fav. So much more interesting than their others. Just feels so much more ambitious and adventurous than their other albums.
