That is quite the statement

Also, it would have to be your third favorite. You have the new Cannibal Corpse rated higher. Yes, I did some stalking. Crazy top three though

lol, I forgot about Evisceration Plague. Yes, that one is great too. I figured some would find that statement to be shocking...I stand behind it though. Even if this grows off me, i'll still remember it as the album where Mudvayne started to get their shit back together on.

The only thing I agree on is the lyrical content. It's quite undistinguishable. The lyrics Chad used to write were really strong back in the day. A great album is a great album though even if it doesn't exactly compare to LD 50 and The End Of All Things To Come that were mindblowing in my view.

Yeah, he's a pretty terrible lyricist now. Scream With Me makes me rage.

Unfortunately, the time of sophisticated and dark lyricism of Severed, Nothing To Gein, Skrying and (Per)Version of A Truth has gone by.

but oh man, is that song catchy or what? Sure the lyrics aren't, haha, exactly the best, but the catchiness won me over

Mudvayne has been on a bit of a skid lately, wouldn’t you agree? For a band that came out with one of the defining albums of the early 00’s, LD 50,

Two defining albums because you forgot The End of All Things to Come which pretty much got rid of all the filler crap that was on L.D. 50, restructured their haphazard songs and focused their attack to near perfection.

Inconsistency is the name of the game with Mudvayne’s latest. Some great ideas followed by themes they have beaten to death a hundred times.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through and I fucking agree with this so much. Excellent review, this is panning out to be about 2/5 so far.

I agree with you there in that I personally find TEOATTC better, but LD 50 is the defining album in my opinion.
