i mean this is a fine review but live performances are obv different from anything the band did in a studio setting (looser, longer songs, etc) and plus its helps to frame the album in its place in time. you compare this with sj and mpp when it's and the band itself is so, so far away from them, which you should at least touch on
but yeah this is bad and i agree with you majorly

weirdly, I'm beginning to appreciate this more, even if it is mostly for its stonerific comedy value. still gonna stand by what I said in the review as from an even vaguely mainstream (read: not completely weird) perspective, and the view of 99 percent of folks on this site, I feel it still applies. gonna bump up the rating a bit though.

animal collective has a really strange fascination with the greek god pan and like chants/rituals related to him and nature idk what's up with it or why they do it but i love their music so much

Don't get all the hate for this album, i think this is excellent.
The first three songs make up a really epic first side, some of AC's most atmospheric stuff, with some great build ups and all that tension is released in forest gospel, i only listen to those tracks in order. There's an Arrow is very catchy once you can discern the melody and the Lablakely Dress on here is miles better than the album version.
Toss up between 3.5 and 4 but considering its just a live album i'll give it a 4.
