Jebus, let it grow on you, give it a chance, why can't people stop living on the assuption that weezer will make another album in the style of blue/pinkerton? I mean they do say assumption is the mother of all fuck-ups! I really like this album, its beautifully melodic and well structured. Best tracks being hold me, peace, perfect situation, haunt you every day and the damage in your heart.

The review was short and sweet, yet quite biasedThis Message Edited On 04.09.06

The thing is though, why did the band lose their consistency so dramatically? Their style is certainly different now, and it kind of seems like the mainstream prefers it - although I think their new stuff is pretty lame, people out there are liking it, therefore striving Weezer to keep making cack like this.

Or they have just lost it. Completely. Yeah, the latter seems right.

Anyways, not a bad review. This Message Edited On 05.15.06

Wth? That's seriously underrated. You must have been stoned when you listened to the CD and wrote this biased review. Give 'Perfect Situation' a few listens and let it sink in. This Message Edited On 11.21.06

This is a horrable showing from a band that has the ability to make albums that have depth, substance, etc etc. They just don't execute on this album. And I don't get the big deal about Beverley Hills. It's one of the worst songs on the album, but everybody treats it as if its the best Weezer song ever recorded.

This album is unbearable! The only song I liked on here was the first one.

This was pretty disappointing. This was also one of the only albums I actually bought in my life.

This is the only Weezer album I can NEVER finish a song on without wanting to change it.

When your band is a powerpop band, that's not good.

I can see how you may dislike the album if you are not open to the new things Weezer brings to their music. Let me guess you didn't like red either. If so you are trying to prevent Weezer from being themselves. When they play this music they have joy written on their faces, they like what they play.

I am a huge Nada Surf fan and i faced similar disappointment with their newest album 'Lucky' i am not going to give it a 1 however, there is no way this album deserves that. try to be fair. Save those ratings for 'soldierboytellem.com'.

Awww... i liked lucky, however i haven't heard much else from Nada.
But, back on topic, yea, this album is pretty mediocre below avg. range.
...and I think it's completely fair to judge them based on their past excellence.
