Definitely not; this is for Flips hardcore fans.
Start with The Soft Bulletin.

my god this is psychedelic, but good. Needs more digestion.

A reach deep into the psychedelic roots in which the likes of Pink Floyd have grasped. Though it may seem experimental the album proves to be quite great.

The Sparrow Looks Up At The Machine is one of the best live performances i've ever heard. This album has grown on me a lot

i feel like theres definitely a great album in here. it's not even necessarily the length, but some
things just don't rub me the right way. 'the impulse' is awesome.

I must admit, I had no idea what half the songs were about. This is the first Flaming Lips CD I bought, so I'm not sure if this is just them experimenting or just how they usually sound.

this is horrible horrible horrible place to start with these guys. I'd suggest starting with Yoshimi, it's their most accessible in my opinion

It's a good album (not the cream of the flip crop, but not the worst) it just takes forever to get into.

Yeah, I just really got into it.
I've been listening since January too.
|

i liked this a lot after the first couple of listens
only drawback is how overcompressed it sounds

The Soft Bulletin took me a long time to really get into. Like I enjoyed the songs individually but it took a while to get the whole dad dying concept, which is fucking brilliant.
But I can think of no band that goes so balls to the wall on all their albums (even when they fail)
|

i def like this more than Yoshimi
