fine, but there's a lot more to music then just how well it exectues whatever initial ideas the music might be based on.
What else is there? Granted, some music is a thousand times more original, profound, and melodious but its all based on the same thing.

I don't think i'll ever get tired of this absolute gem. Cool review, although i agree with what someone said earlier about it reading more like a 4.5 or 5.

how catchy the songs are, how heavy, how well they flow, how technical, how deep are the lyrics, how well are the arrangements put together, etc etc. I guess all of these can be categorized as "ideas" in a very abstract and broad way, but it's just pretentious. The execution of ideas is how everything in the artistic realm is created, so critiquing an album by saying "they didn't execute this idea very well" really isn't saying ANYTHING.

You've answered as I would to your own problem. In the artistic realm, the execution of ideas is quite obviously the most critical aspect of creating. I think I elaborated well enough on the idea and it's excellency - I don't like to include a lot of praise in my writing, I think it distracts readers from the objective value of the subject.

I can definitely see why someone would lack an attention span for this, it takes a while to build. Not a lot of people I know could sit down and actually listen to this in its entirety.

I honestly don't know anyone outside of this site in my city that listens to Godspeed, or any post-rock for that matter.

I touched this up a bit; I don't think I'll make it any longer, it doesn't need to be. The album is short and it's message is pretty blatant. Beautiful, but that word can only be said so many times before growing bland.
