I haven't listened to this yet, but I will say that just cause something is fun, silly, and lighthearted doesn't make it good quality. Blue album was very silly at times, but was great. Red was silly as well, but most of the time was stupid, and unfortunately it seems like this is following the same path. Oh well, I'll still give it a shot.

Review is good. Can't really say that about this album although there are strong points.

Fair enough, but you can't tell me that ironically stupid lyrics aren't easier to enjoy.
no, ironically stupid lyrics are definitely worse than non-ironic stupid lyrics because it just amounts to a waste of potential. why write lyrics you know are stupid when you could actually apply yourself and write some good lyrics. Also the fun in stupid lyrics is the idea that someone actually thought it was clever, insightful, but most importantly their honesty. ironically stupid lyrics completely strip stupid lyrics of all they're good for.

They were deliberately trying to make a dumb album with a fun sense of humor. For the style of music on this album, it just
makes more sense to go with lyrics that were stupid.

Love Is the Answer is horrendous. makes me think love ISNT the answer, and makes me distrust the world.

Review sums it up perfectly. The album itself is the funniest thing I've heard in ages. The only criticism I have is that it is way too polished and the original acoustic version of i can't stop partying was way better than the new version.

This is honestly the best review I've ever read here on Sputnik. You took my exact opinion on the album and expressed it beautifully. Fantastic job, Bravo Bravo

Its an album of mostly good songs ruined by heavy handed production and bad lyrics. Maybe they were going for the heavy production thing, and it appeals to some people but it annoys me a lot. Especially when I can hear where their voices were digitally altered.
your review is well written though, even though I disagree with you on how this turned out even if its only slightly. To me this was another Pork and Beans Red Album fiasco.

To me this was another Pork and Beans Red Album fiasco.
fair enough, although is there any reason you dig the single but not the other straight up power pop songs like 'let it all hang out'?
and thank you plinkerton, skyler, and everyone else, i really appreciate it!

Good review, Kirgasm.
I don't know who these guys are anymore

"this is a solid 3 for me. its the best thing they have done in a while, that's for sure."
sadly people said the exact thing when red came out, I hate to say this but I think it's time for weezer to give up. It hurts so much because blue and pinkerton where both 5 star classics.

Easily the most accurate post you have ever made

I thought this was pretty terrible. Most of the songs that were enjoyable sounded like generic Weezer songs and were only enjoyable because I was ready to settle for that by the time they came on. I'm all for goofiness, but this was just plain bad and unfunny. Red beats this easily in my opinion, hell, I can't even decide whether or not this beats Make Believe. Even if the lyrics were pretty awful, Love is the Answer might be my favorite just cause it sounded interesting musically rather than sounding like every Weezer song ever.
