I've never understood the Sikth comparison. Sure they share the 2 vocalist set up but apart from that i just cant see the similarities. The riffs sound so different to me. Sikth have alot more technical wizardry with arpeggios, tapping etc etc. Arusha does have some of these but their use is much less abundant and to the guitarist ear their more of a 'sounds hard but isnt really that hard compared to sikth' type thing. Drift?

yeah, they're not super similar with each other that's for sure. Sikth seems to be the first band that comes to mind for some reason. i admit, Sikth has more leads and dissonance.
haha, your last statement made me laugh. yeah, notewise, Arusha is not that difficult to play. but considering that they have a different time signature for every bar in any song, that's what makes it a challenge to play.

I generally compare them to SikTh because of the two vocalists and song writing not so much as the guitar techniques (esp. the similar use of tapping) and presence of slap bass

there's a lot of Uk bands coming out with two vocalists now, you guys should check out No Consequence. great stuff.

dunno, just getting really sick of this kind of metal. Every fucking band sounds like the other, it really just feels like i'm listening to the same band over and over...we need more elite metalcore like protest the hero, between the buried and me, converge
edit: also, the vocals on this weren't that great...

Reminds me of Nightmares, just more listenable which suits me.
|
| |
I actually found this pretty accessible as this kind of music goes...and it's really good, like a post-hardcore version of Architects/Johnny Truant et al.
