I noticed, and I don't care what it takes, maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but soon, you will find this to be a masterpiece! haha.

The nitpicker inside me is annoyed that this he doesn't have his own separate page for his solo albums. Anyway, this is either a 3.5 or a 4, just like seemingly every other album I've listened to this year. I love the first half, but the second not as much.

Agree with the seperate page.
And idk, Empty's Theme Park is starting to be my favorite song from this.

Nice review. This sounds really good I suppose I'll have to pick it up next time I'm going on an album downloading binge.

I disagree about this being his magnum opus, I have been a fan since his second album came out, well when he was in Matthew Good Band. This was his best work since Avalanche but not better than that album or anything before it.
It is not very similar to Beautiful Midnight by the way, that was their best Album. More rocky than he is now, not that theres anything wrong with that, Matt good has been through a lot since then and now his stuff is just him and no band to collaberate with but at the same time still sounds like it came from the same source.

Umm I would have to disagree, though I am much more of a fan of his solo material than with MGB, not to say that stuff was also incredible though.
I think if I had to pick one song that explained me right now it would be On Nights Like Tonight.
This has not woren off on me at all.

never really made that connection before but i can totally see it.

Yeah, I noticed it while I was out running the neighborhood and listening to the album this morning, both of the songs seem to be played on a similar production setting drum-wise... kind of like a big, cinematic full-band/orchestra sound to them.
