"...looking past their fame you see nothing but another British band that holds little relevance to today’s music."
No....just...no. Bold review though I like it

King Crimson's first album came out the same year as this, how have they been doing anything "long before" this album?
Also you spend too much time saying how they "borrowed" this and "sound like" that (which in truth could be applied to every single band ever) and are overrated and not enough time talking about the actual music. It's not very objective.

as much as i understand their importance in music, i still dont care much for their music. i agree with most of this review

Review is awful. It's not well-written and there are tons of mistakes. Your arguments have no basis. You can ignore their importance and influence all you want but it's still there. It's not metal so I guess you just don't understand.

lol @ author's pie chart
there's a lot to say about this review, but although it's not the best written or structured, it does have relatively salient points regarding the actual album.
unfortunately, you kind of derail your legitimacy by attacking the beatles as musical innovators and groundbreakers in the first couple of paragraphs, making the rest of the article seem petty and lame overall. try just focusing on the music next time around rather than ranting about your thoughts on the band.

I don't know the details about what King Crimson did in the same period but even only transitions between the songs in this album is enough to praise the album. General atmosphere in this album is stillness. Songs are calm and peaceful. Maybe that's what you are talking about as "soulless"... Beatles is also a very underrated band since most of the people knows only the classics of Beatles (such as Yesterday, Let it be) but Abbey Road, White Album and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Bands are great albums and they will stand the test of time. I would be glad if people (who questions these albums) could provide me some album names (not for comparison but showing me the better pieces of art).

lol @ klap's pie chart
i love how blind objectivity gets in the way of neutral observation
this is seriously a pretty well written review; anyone that says it is badly written should look at example A:

in addition, its amazing how much criticism a negative review receives regardless of its quality, and even more astonishing how people seem to perceive a contrasting opinion as the basis by which perfection is required
seriously some of you saying this review is bad HAVEN'T EVEN WRITTEN A REVIEW (and your soundoffs are garbage)

seriously ulsu teach me the errors of my ways!
and no, this isn't like an excellent, supremely well-written review. compare this to any staff review if you're going to be comparing to retarded track-by-tracks like the one linked above. the parts that actually analyze the album are pretty good, obviously, but the largest paragraph has nothing to do with the album and is totally extraneous, coming off as just a "why-are-the-beatles-so-popular-i-think-they're-overrated" rant. and it would be nice if the author used more than three or four examples in the context of his interview, as well as going into more depth with an example.
if you want my honest opinion on this review, i think it comes off like a metalhead trying to convince himself the Beatles aren't hugely influential or even good (that king crimson reference is lazy - it's not like they were writing progressive metal YEARS before the beatles released Abbey Road). i'm all down with a negative review on this album (there's much better Beatles ones imo), just not with this obviously biased slant.

your argument became irrelevant here when you used the term metalhead as if it can be used as a term to completely describe someone's musical taste, judgment, and capacity to understand the music they hear. metalheads, as SHOCKING as it may seem to someone as closeminded as you
hardcore lol
can understand pop, indie, rock, and any other genre as well as anyone else. in fact, your argument is even rantier than the review; you seem insulted that a metalhead would have the AUDACITY to go outside his boundaries and voice his opinion on something else.
admit it, if it weren't for the beatles, you'd all be saying "great review"
