was that stream really of the whole album? it seemed to stop oddly short for me.

Btw, it's interesting how you say that the Lips have come off as anachronistic (by which I assume given the context you mean ahead of their time, rather than behind?), 'cause my biggest gripe with the band is how dated their records sound, especially Yoshimi and Bulletin, and doubly so in the wake of OK Computer. I like this so much 'cause it's the first album that I can sorta hear the Lips actually straddling the boundaries of their sound, even if it's not always pretty, or just goes on for too long.

Great review, I can tell you spent a lot of time on it and Lips' albums definitely warrant that. I agreed for the most part except at the end when you said Zaireeka is better, and when you said The Soft Bulletin isn't as monumental as it was hyped to be. (That's still the best album I've ever heard by a long shot)

He was exactly right with that part. Good to see somebody around here acknowledge the older albums. Soft Bulletin was cool, but NOT their best.

I really liked Yoshimi, though it's not something that I put on often. Kinda like Kid A. Still, I should check this out.
