Great review. Exactly echoes my sentiments. I was such a fan on MM, but their new music is just so cringeworthy in places. They worked so well being bleak and misanthropic in style, and Isaac Brock's voice perfectly complimented it all. Now that they've enveloped themselves in the mainstream they're just trying to make catchy, upbeat music that honestly sounds retarded with Isaac Brock's schizophrenic yelps - it just doesn't work together anymore.

"He has a very angry, course tone to his voice" I think you mean "coarse".

Decent review, it kind of reads like you don't know much about Modest Mouse though. You defend your opinions pretty well but don't seem to have a contextual understanding of what makes the band appealing.
