Blswylde heres some advice, forget the review just read this.
1. listen to some more metal which is outside of the mainstream rather than the ones u've already heard, use sputnik as your guide, look out for recs.
2. Tell us what ya listened to
3. then try and come back and tell us that FFDP makes original riffs and are one of the best metal bands out there.

Sorry dude, it seems either u have a thing for average metal (not saying they are awful) or you havent listened to much metal, i think it might be the latter.

I too think it's the latter. Ask for say 5 recommendations for every genre in a list You'll get a lot of replies. Go check out those albums.

Well I just want to say there is really no need in anyone being such an asshole to him. He explained what he was doing. It was just what he thought about it the first time he listened to the album. Which in my opinion plays a major role in whether you will listen to an album again. I wouldn't want to listen to it again if I hated it the first time. Also Emim said to copy other users styles...well all I can say to that is life is filled with change, if you can't handle things being different then maybe you should reconsider why you are still here.

Ironmen - No. How does half assed impressions of songs help me as a reader to know what this sounds like? "Metal. Just good ol' metal" does nothing to describe what this sounds like at all. This might be "change" (it's not, there are plenty of shitty fanboy reviews), but it sucks.

He should just read other people's reviews that have coherent paragraphs and describe an album so that the listener has some idea of what to expect other than "Metal", which is pretty broad and is already known because its under metal. And there is plently of room for variation in reviews, so what exactly are you talking about?

Also, there are a bunch of albums which get better after repeated listen.

Just rewrite the whole of the review, add body to it an explain your points, you the flaming will (probably) stop. :-)

Go listen to Opeth, primarily Blackwater Park. Heck, go check out Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath while you're at it; you need a better base in "real" metal.
