Yah I mean it took me like a year to realize that The Frightening Reality.. is one of my favorite post punk (or whatever) songs.
But because of the fact that I think Moneen completly lost the meaning of the word subtlty on this, I doubt it'll be much of a grower, though I have one song left to go.
Hold That Sound, The Way, and Lighters are really great songs though.

Yeah Mordecai, that was a single & one of the better songs off of their previous album 'The Red Tree'. If you liked that track, you will definitely like that entire album. And yeah, there is a bit of an EARLY Jimmy Eat World vibe about Moneen.
I know many people disagree with me, but I liken them a lot to Brand New with their early releases. But if anything, this particular album has more of an Anberlin sound... Just nowhere near as good.
Brandon, I already know you are going to really like the closer. I think that will be most fans highlight track.

K thnx Davey, I'll check it out.

I def here the Anberlin influence.
Yah the closer was good, but again the lack of any sort of subtlty throws me off.

"I def here the Anberlin influence." Phew, I thought I was going crazy.
"the lack of any sort of subtlty throws me off." When you say that Brandon, do you mean that those layers I was talking about before are not there? So basically what you hear first up, is what you will hear weeks later.

Yeah thats exactly what I mean. Like I was saying, about The Frightening Reality, the song seems really messy but after multiple listens you find raw emotion. Everything is so clean cutt on this.
And I'm gonna spam this, go listen to the new Matthew Good record. It's incredible.

And yes, 'The Frightening Reality...' is soooooooo good. Absolutely love that song.
Thanks for the reco. In all honesty, I've never given Good a thorough listen. No real reason to be honest, I just haven't.

CompanionCube, I second Brandon's opinion that this is more like 'The Red Tree' than any of their other albums, but in a sense it is also a rather significant departure from that album due to its "cleaner" sound.
And foxxxy, if you didn't like 'The Red Tree', you aren't liekly going to enjoy this.

Acually, it wouldn't surprise me. The Red Tree was pretty raw, and alot of people don't like that.
