I think the personal for Bitches Brew is even more amazing:

it's listed in wikipedia as:

* Miles Davis - trumpet

* Wayne Shorter - soprano saxophone

* Bennie Maupin - bass clarinet

* Chick Corea - electric piano (solo on "Miles Runs The Voodoo Down")

* John McLaughlin - guitar

* Dave Holland - bass

* Harvey Brooks - electric bass

* Lenny White - drum set

* Jack DeJohnette - drum set

* Don Alias - congas, drum set

* Juma Santos (credited as "Jim Riley") - shaker, congas

* Larry Young - electric piano on "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down" "John McLaughlin" "Spanish Key" and "Pharaoh's Dance"

* Joe Zawinul - electric piano on "Bitches Brew" "Sanctuary" "Spanish Key" and "Pharaoh's Dance"

* Billy Cobham - drum set

* Airto Moreira - percussion

John Zorn's Electric Masada also has an extremely impressive array of musicians. kinda like Miles Davis' band of our time.This Message Edited On 02.21.09

Obviously that's fantastic, but the the fact that it's more like a compilation of musicians rather than a real group weakens it for me, maybe I'm just weird. And Herbie Hancock and Tony Williams playing on this just separates it from Bitches Brew for me.

well, both consist of feckin amazing musicians. This album owns life itself. Sketches of Spain is kind of on par with this, need to get Bitches Brew and Kind of Blue

Dave Holland is the fucking king of bass. I even prefer him over Mingus (!). When the drums come in on the second track... stellar.
