I actually like Heathen Throne and The Longest Journey. They're my favorites off the album.
Some of the songs on it didn't seem kind of memorable, but that doesn't mean that there are no interesting compositions on the album.
Also, the gripe you have with intro songs seems to weigh too heavily on your judgment (imo). I didn't particularly like this intro song either, but it wasn't that bad.

Tarot is the most in your face power metal band to the point where a lot of people just see them as a heavy metal band; they are definitely power metal though.

And this exhibits lots of traits of power metal. Vocals aren't the distinguishing feature. As I mentioned: power metal with harsh vocals is still power metal. This has happy lalala melodies, lots of double bass and keyboard work, and heavy metal riffing. For this to be death metal it'd need to be absolutely amelodic (and I can barely call this melodic death metal just because it has harsh vocals). Melodic death metal is an odd term. It's like death metal with solos. This is not death metal with solos.
It's folk metal, not power metal. There is a difference between the two. Folk metal is a legitimate sub-genre even if it isn't widely recognized as such much like doom metal and stoner metal. Besides, try putting blastbeats and harsh vocals over Blind Guardian, Sonata Arctica, Kamelot, or pretty much any popular power metal band. It wouldn't fit. Sure there aren't many blasts on this album, but lots of folk metal bands labeled as power metal are full of tremolo picked riffs and blasts and power metal is just not the fitting term for such bands.

Folk metal isn't a genre. Folk metal puts no implications on what type of metal you are playing except there's folk in it. This is folk + power metal. There's folk + black metal, folk + doom metal etc etc. Folk metal isn't a genre in itself.
