Yeah, the production's definitely the biggest problem. I just don't think Ryan was used to recording bass and it left everything sounding too treble-y and kind of flat, like you said. Just crank the bass on your equalizer -- that's helped for me depending on what I'm listening to it through.

Good review. I also think that this album is their best album. Since I jumped on the PTW train late, I actually like Versions a lot as well. I love all of the guitar tones and just the whole haunting, sinister, "rotting" feel of the album as it plays through. By the end of the album, I'm seriously ready to just start again listening to it. There are also songs that just get stuck in my head in a good and memorable way. I'm really bummed I never got to see them play live. I really hope they end the hiatus at some point and get back to together if nothing else to do some shows.
