sounds meh and generic

lol irony++ I'm listening to Draconian as I listen to this. Although, they at least seem to be more concerned with ripping off My Dying Bride than the Gathering/Paradise Lost, which is a plus.
I still say that After Forever was the one band that got this genre right.

The lastest album by Draconian was really good, even if it was another unoriginal album. I've never really liked After Forever for some reason. I'd say that The Gathering was one of the more original bands to ever come out of the genre.

Well, the Gathering deliberately rejected the genre after doing maybe 1-2 albums that could be classified and never really "fit" to begin with. They're in their own camp IMO.
Tristania had a run where they made decent music but then whatshisface left and they went to shit. "Beyond the Veil" was pretty awesome for the genre, though...the choir arrangements & monk vocals were pretty cool.

On another note, I thought I could half-ass this and be ok but I think I'm going to have to work on it tomorrow in order to be ok with it.

You like this and yet you snubbed your nose at Battlelore. Tsk, tsk Willie.

this would be a lot more enjoyable if it was shorter

Anything here as good as "Into Your Light?" This band has always just been okay to me but I love that song.

Ok, the review has been re-written from the ground up. I just wasn't happy with the half-assed original one, but at least it motivated me to write a better one.
You like this and yet you snubbed your nose at Battlelore. Tsk, tsk Willie. Goddamn right! That sounded like the fruity crap I was referring to in this review.this would be a lot more enjoyable if it was shorter Yeah, it does start to feel like too much by the end.Anything here as good as "Into Your Light?" This band has always just been okay to me but I love that song. That song has a darker vibe than anything on this, and it's a bit heavier too. This album feels more ''romantic" and it's defintely more melodic without the metal riffing on that song.

Also: The Silent Enigma is an Anathema album, not a Within Temptation one (that album you are referring to is called The Silent Force). This is in the recommended albums section.

is this that bee-otch from theater of tragedy? didn't know she was on a solo project.
it's amazing how theater changed genres throughout their career, i'd say my favourite era was during Musique and Assembly. i really liked the rock they had going there.

Yeah, this is the original vocalist for Theatre of Tragedy but this isn't her solo stuff.
Her solo stuff: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands.php?bandid=9636
This is her new full time band which features all the members of death metal band Atrocity. You're one of the few to like their electro-industrial stuff more than their older doom style. I like both styles, depending on my mood.

I once saw a guy who called ToT's electro-industrial stuff porno music.

Ha ha. I don't know what kind of porn he's watching but it's definitely not that mainstream stuff.

Basically. I do like some of that goth glam though. The swagger is undeniably addicting.
