This album is classic. Not there best but it got me into punk.

1.Burnout-Fast paced great song 2:00 min. and done plain and simple.

2.Having A Blast-Song is great, and when it hit the part where he goes "Do you ever..." it's just great

3.Chump-Short song still good though then leads into an even better song.

4.Longview-One of the best basslines ever, plus you just have to love it when Billie Joe starts the chorus

5.Welcome To Parasdise-Awsome song. Origionally on Kerplunk Billie Joe had a masterpiece waiting just to be fixed up.

6.Pulling Teeth-A song about being controlled by a women...ha. Good song, maybe the worst song on the album but there all good songs.

7.Basket Case-Awsome intro and lyrics, everything about this song is just awsome.

8.She-My Favorite song. Bassline just amazing (Mike Dirnt is the best punk bassist around) Billie's voice fits the song perfectly.

9.Safrass Roots-Nice song to calm down to after all those adrenaline songs.

10.When I Come Around-I just love this song, the slow song on the album and it just perfect.

11.12.13.Comming Clean,Eneimus Sleepus, and In The End- three short song all very good but just seems like filler songs which dissapoints me.

14.F.O.D.(**** Off And Die)-the song starts off wit hjust acoustics and Billie Joe with amazing lyrics. Then When it bust out it just is awesome too.

15.All By Myself-Hilarious. You can tell this was recorded at a party when they were all drunk. Tre makes it even funnier with his voice.

Billie Joe, Mike, And Tre are all very good at there instruments. Billie Is also a very good songwritter too.
Overall 9.9 out of 10 Stars

I agree, Dookie is an awesome album. Although Kerplunk is my favorite Green Day album, Dookie comes in a close second.

For the record, I can't stand Blink. Tom's voice is terrible in that it's always so whiney and high pitched, even then it's not as bad as the guy from New Found Glory. OH DEAR GOD I can't stand that!

As for Green Day, I love 'em! Just look at the name and avatar. ;) I really can't pick a favorite album (they're all wonderful), but I'm favoring Insomniac and Dookie right now.

As for 11-13 being filler songs, I'd have to disagree! In The End is one of my faves, and all 3 are extremely fun to play. They're far from filler, IMO.
Fair enough review, I think. I have a question, though.

I was driving to the hospital Friday night with this cd playing. For various reasons, I hadn't gotten much sleep in about 2 weeks so my attention span and whatnot was slightly altered (no drugs, just tiredness). Anyway, so I'm listening to the album, and I SWEAR I heard solos being played, mixed very low, on a bunch of the songs. Was my tired mind and racing brain making me imagine solos (or at least lead fills) or is it actually there? Don't say that Billy only plays chords, either, 'cause he does fun little behind-the-head solos at shows... So yeah. If you can help me, that'd be cool.

And :thumb:
Well my friend, there is a lush and lovely background solo on coming clean for definite in the middle of the song, but that's about it. OOH! And pulling teeth has one.

you couldnt have picked a better cd to review. this album is definitely in my top five of all time. while it doesnt show green days most talent, it is the favorite among fans as just about anyone will tell you. its not as good musically as say nimrod, but all around its a much better album to rock out to. theres not a bad song on the album, or even so much as a mediocre song. this was literally the first cd i ever owned, and to this day i listen to it without skipping one track. i love the way it starts off with that blast into burnout. brilliant. id have to say highlights for me are the ever popular basket case (which anyone with ears should know by heart) she, which is one of the better songs lyrically (and i love the intro with billie joe singing over the bass). in the end musically is nothing special, but its fast, loud, and i cant hear it enough. and of course, billie joes little acoustic piece of genius F.O.D. whats great about that song is the contrast. how it can be so different but stay relevant to itself. all in all, this album made me love music. clown love to mike, tre, and billie joe for bringin us this one.

I'm big on complexity in music, don't ask why i just am. But this cd is just so addictive, listen once and it's cool, listen twice and it's awesome, listen any more and it's a masterpiece. I only listened to it as a whole a short time ago and it really shows how songs don't need to be ridiculously complex and difficult to be great.

This album is when punk broke in America. It's amazing.

Note- "All By Myself" has composed, played, and sung by Tre Cool.
