nirvana were the only big name grunge act that have never caught on with me in full

I'm sort of the opposite. I really enjoy Nirvana but the other big name acts haven't done too much for me...exept Ten it is indeed good, just not a 5 from me.

this album is basically unlistenable. all the songs sound the same and Even Flow is fun for like the first 3 times and then it loses its novelty

"all the songs sound the same"

What a retarded comment, you've obviously never listened to the album.

its far from an experiment recording ambient noises of dissonant machinery grating your precious ears

theres actual songwriting and stuff

and something of a production

i don't know how you could rank it as the same score as the kind of abysmal trollop I have rated so low such as the teenage mutant ninja turtles album and william hungs christmas album its leagues above even if its not to your personal taste

This.

It's definitely not Soulja Boy.

Black automatically means this album cannot be below 3.5. It's not a 5 from me, but a definite 4 and maybe a 4.5 when I'm in a grunge mood.

Okay. So. FUCK.

I just heard a rumour that Pearl Jam are touring Aus at the end of the year with fucking Ben Harper and Relentless7.

Shit = lost if true.

^^
I much prefer the AIC of Dirt to Jar of Flies. I found them to get more boring as time went on, especially by AIC. I'll always love Dirt, though. Most aggressive singles.

Core vs Purple is close. Very different records. The raw sound of Core is a bit more fun than the craftsmanship of Purple, I feel.

I used to love this album (Ten) until Pearl Jam turned into a different band and caused me to lose interest in the first record altogether. I guess they all changed for the worse, after their first. STP maintained very well, though. I have no interest in Pearl Jam anymore.

Good review.

great review. This is one of the first albums I ever got. No matter how much I grow up and move on to other genres, this will always hold a spot in my heart

yeah, that's were my rating comes from. Alive, Once and Jeremy are cool too but all in all it's not that awesome. but Black is one of the best songs of the 90s

I thought that way for ages, but idk a lot of the later tracks on the album really came out for me over time. I honestly never thought they would.
