The vocalist sounds a lot like Max Cavalera, granted, but the music isn't that Soulfy-ish IMO, its like Pantera chug riffs mixed with Kreator-esque speed.

yaah I ain't denying that Ektomorf does sound like Soulfly in many aspects, but the pure fact is that they did it first!!!
And your view is very interesting Greg, I just haven't heard Kreator (a shame I know) before and don't know what to think of them

well if you don't like Cavalera then it is not the end of the world just yet. You like some thrash right? If you do then it is very difficult for me to tell if you would like this or not. On one hand, this should be appealing to a thrash fan. On the other hand it is a bit reminiscent of Soulfly/Sepultura. It's just better than Soulfly in my eyes by quite a bit

yes I've been meaning to check out Kreator for quite a while now, just there's so much new music coming out and I discover new bands (like this one here) also quite often so I have a very busy music schedule. I'll try and check them finally out though.

yaah I made a whole thrash list lately, I though that it shall get about 5 - 10 comments and not all that many rec's but now I got like about 30 rec's of thrash so it seems I'll be going on a thrash rampage now! Plus all the other rec's I receive here in sputnik daily

yep and that is actually a concern for me. I'm the kind of person who really likes to enjoy their music. I listen to my music/artists very thoroughly and all the time and if I get all these rec's and stuff to check out all the time, I can't really enjoy all the stuff I get. But since I do like to enjoy it then I just kind of forget about a lot of cool rec's I have gotten since I am too busy listening to my old, good artists

Btw if you like Ektomorf listen to Instinct. Around here it's considered as they best album.

haha well this is a music site which is built upon opinions, I'm totally cool about you not liking them, to each his own, it's just that I don't like it when people mislabel things badly. It's not intended against you or anything, but these other people who stubbornly say that Ektomorf is a blatant Soulfly ripoff manage to anger me deeply.
yaah I'll definitely take a good look into their back-catalogue since I had heard bits and pieces of them before listening to this album, but this is the only full album I have by them. And yes I really like them haha
