^You know rocksta you wouldn't seem so much of a bonehead sometimes if the music and artists you admire weren't nearly exactly the same as the ones you criticize :-

I actually think this is not bad at all JXD, are you really that unhappy with it?

Meh, it was my third review, I think. It's pretty good. But not quite enough about the album and a bit too much about the impact/effect/history. I don't mind that, but would of liked it to of been more concise and a bit shorter. This and my Tunnel Of Love review by Springsteen sort of make me cringe. Well written as they might be, I just sort of go 'ugh'. Other than those I'm cool, for the most part. Although my one John Mellencamp review is a bit long in the tooth, too.

Ok I really don't like listening to The Unforgettable Fire. But this album contains so many good tracks, but that's the same reason I bought the Unforgettable Fire. So...is this worth buying? BTW when are you gonna review October? I don't think you could outdo this review...

Unforgettable Fire is worth it, yes. It's an important transitional album that helps you understand the band. October? someone else said they were going to do it. if not i'll give it a crack. This Message Edited On 08.26.06

oshi...now I misread your post :p.

yeah, War is the best of the first three albums. It is consistent all the way through. Extremely solid and rewarding. Hardly a lame cut on it. closes out the early years perfectly. This Message Edited On 08.26.06

I've been listening to U2 all day and I forget how much I love this album. "New Years Day" and "Surrender" are some of my favorite U2 songs. I tend to dislike a lot of rock albums that are heavy on the political side but for some reason that doesn't really phase me even though War is full of political lyrics.

Excellent job on the review JXD.

No love for "Like A Song"? Such a fantastic track.

My personal favorite U2 record. They technically had better ones, but this was their hardest, boldest record by far, and they'll never write a song as good as "Sunday Bloody Sunday" or "New Year's Day" ever ever again.

Don't really love this album as much as some other people...

I love Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, "40", and Like a Song, but I don't think the other songs quite match up.

Still a great album.
