I havent heard Freya but i'll look into it. I agree with you those Goose, this is about a 3.7 for me, which essentially deserves a 4 so psss... good call. And yeah, cant find lyrics anywhere. I should have bought this weeks ago when I had the chance but 15.99 was not appealing.

Street by street. Block by block. Taking it all back.
The youth's immersed in poison--turn the tide
counterattack. Violence against violence, let the roundups begin.
A firestorm to purify the bane that society drowns in. No
mercy, no exceptions, a declaration of total war.
The innocents' defense is the reason it's waged for.
Born addicted, beaten
and neglected. Families torn apart, detroyed and abandoned.
Children sell their bodies, from their high they fall to drown.
Demons crazed by greed cut bystanders down.
A chemically tainted welfare generation.
Abslolute complete moral degeneration.
Born addicted, beaten and neglected.
Families torn apart, detroyed and abandoned.
Children sell their bodies, from their high
they fall to drown. Demons crazed by greed cut bystanders down.
Corrupt politicans, corrupt enforcement, drug lords and
dealers; all must fall. The helpless are crying out.
We have risen to their call. A firestorm to purify.

Freya's first album was kind of weak. Karl was pretty strong on it, but some fat dude with a girlie voice sang during parts and ruined it. Much like EC Freya disappeared for a while but resurfaced a couple years ago with a pretty decent album (iirc)

I can't remember which one I really didn't like, but he also does it in the song is called "Throwing Rocks At A Drowning Man" (I think that's the title.) He actually pulls it off in that song pretty well though, it works with Karl's pretty intense verses. Their newest album had the single "Suffer Not One" which doesn't feature Fatty McGirlieson- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vCNUrS27M-E (vid is horribly out of sync but it's the only one I could find by them)

Well written review dude.

Breed the Killers and Destroy the Machines are where it's at. This was weak at best.

This album is exactly how you described it: a perfect record when you want something heavy and enjoyable regardless of who's playing.

I enjoyed it and enjoyed the review...

no bro in the sense that it's clear these guys churned out another album in a pitiful attempt to make some more money. Album has almost no substance. It's not bad, it's just not good, either.

My problem with this album is that it's wayyyyyyyyyyy too overproduced. I enjoy how their older albums sounded rawer, therefore giving them a bit more of a realistic hardcore edge. This just sounds watered down and phony.

"Your a big fat phony!"

This is the best guitar work i've ever heard from E.C the riffage is more metal and the tempo shifts and chugging is fucking sweet.

But Tue Madsen (Dark Tranquillity) produced this so it's not suprising in the least that it's on the same line of sheen as Swedish melo death.

The production is what bugged me the most. That raw, grimmy kind of feel of their older stuff really floored me when I was younger. Thats what I miss about this album.
