intersting to note that the line "i smell the blood of an australian" wasn't a sympathetic lyric but rather a stab at the media's frenzied treatment of a tragic event.

still, i don't believe the attention granted to ledger's death was that much more than what was justified. the death of a hollywood heart-throb is always big news.

Especially when they are only in their 20's/early 30's.

Yeah, though the media was a storm, that for sure.

I like the sound of [what I've heard of] this album more than the previous. I still like Sweater the best. Who doesn't like songs about brown jumpers.

I was hoping this'd be better. ;_; But Foreign Land was a cool song.

I really didn't like their sound on Black Fingernails, Red Wine, though.

Don't Let Me Down sounds boy bandish. Falling For You, Losing My Mind and Childhood Behaviour are the best bits.

But I've never seen how Foreign Land is about Ledger...

Yes, I know it IS about it, but the lyrics don't fit. Seriously, what the hell does the chorus have to do with anything?

Even when you're all alone

When it's not your home

I smell the blood of an Australian

Try to understand this if you can

if you can

if you can

this bit seems quite obvious to me. telling people to try and understand what it's like to die in a foreign land. if you're referring to this -

This is what it feels to love

then l can feel that

This is what it feels to love

then l can feel that

then i have no idea. perhaps it's more of a dedication than anything else.

Yeah, whoopee they have an entire verse and apparently that makes the whole song about it. Not really.
