Thousand Lakes is great as well, with their old voclist.

Thousand Lakes was great for its time, but overall it's kind of overrated. The clean vocals are bad and the melodies are cool but repeated too often in the songs.

I bet. This is one of the few bands that I'd like to have release a comprehensive live album.

This still sounds like something I'd really like; other ratings also justify otherwise.

And the album art rules, yeah?

My rating was much higher initially too. If this just barely leaked that means the other ratings are based off a few listens, at most, with less than 24 hours to take it in.

Was kind of bored with the first song off this, dissapointing after their last opener...gonna try again tommorow though. Cool review too, Willie

Just saw the "Silver Bride" vid, and it sounds to me more like an Am Universum song. Still gonna check this outa, despite the low rating... what can I say, I'm a sucker for these guys.

Btw, extremely-long-bearded-creepy-old-dude in the vid. Check it out.

I actually like this album quite a bit. I was looking forward to reviewing this because I haven't done a legitimate new release in awhile, but I can't complain at all about the quality of the review. I agree with some things and disagree with some others, but you know what, it's a very solid review. Nice job, man.
Damn, I pretty much review an album a week so if I ever have dibs on something that you want to review just say so and I'm sure I'll have no problem letting it go. In this case, if you disagree with some things and generally enjoy it than maybe you could review it anyway so that there's a positive review closer to the release date or something.
and as a side note, isn't it awesome to be a part of the NB pool? I love getting stuff so early from them, even if I don't listen to any of the obscure stuff they give us.
NB is great with giving up albums early, and Metal Blade is pretty cool about that too. Century Media is hit-and-miss.

So far, I think I'm on your side Willie. Its good, but I don't remember anything that I've heard so far.

@cocaine, I wasn't aware Trey has had this album for several weeks. That invalidates the point I

was trying to make. But I don't have to go back and edit it since it was deleted anyway... hey,

this website is foolproof! (edited because it's probably a good idea not to needlessly be a wanker

to more than one staff member in one 24 hour period)

@Jom: I didn't think you were griping. You just don't review very often so if you come across an album that you want to review I have no problem with giving it up.

@mothergoose: good eye, I knew there were comments missing but I couldn't remember what they were. Misunderstandings occur, oh well.

@zippermouth: give it a few tries and see if it sticks because so far I seem to be outnumbered ;)

Willie, it's no problem, I was just doing my fan boy duties of trying to spill haterade on your

nice clean review. You make a compelling argument for your rating though, and we'll see in a few

weeks whether it fades for me too. I think this is probably going to end up being one of those

albums I genuinely like, but rarely listen to. As I said in my sound off, it lacks the punch that

Silent Waters had upon first listen, and if it loses its staying power I will have to lower it a

bit. Silent Waters was just a better package all in all - this one is truly a fun listen though.

Has anyone else ever noticed how horrible Tomi's mustache is? Watch the video for Silent Waters... since it's nothing but his face for the entire video where you can stare at his crooked, pipe cleaner 'stache in all its glory.

And already it's been reviewed. I will first give this a listen, but I already feared it would be a dissapointment, especially after Silent Waters.
