COVER ART IS OKAY DAVEY JUST BECAUSE IT'S NOT METAL ENOUGH
|
| |
Congrats on the feature Ross. Well deserved... Even if the cover art stands out like dogs balls.
Thanks Davey =D yeah I'm pretty happy about it as it is my first feature (not that I review many new albums). Also I think the cover art for the CD/DVD combo is nicer, it's the same pattern but red not orange and it seems to suit it a lot better.

| |
Adam, you've found me out; I am the most metal person on this site! :-)
Yeah, red would make it a little better.
|
| |
You heard it here first folks, red is more METAL than orange according to Mr. Metuhl himself ;-)
|
| |
:D
CAUSE RED IS THE COLOUR OF SATAN AND BLOODDDDDDDDDDD
ok i'm gonna stop now.
|
| |
Mental Note: If I ever require an alternate account, Mr. Metuhl will be it.
|
| |
Mental note, more like metuhl note.
ANYWAYS, congratulations on the feature! Solid review!

I thought it was Dougie, Davey? Where is Aligator to confuse him some more.

Alligator doesn't like me, so he'll be somewhere else. Anywayz Mr. Metuhl > Dougie (no offense)

Gig was good, sound was awful at first but got much better. Did lots of new songs (nearly half the set was from this album), but they all fitted in pretty well. The highlights were generally the big singles like Going Missing, Apply Some Pressure, etc. They were worth seeing I'll probably go again next time.
|
| |
Ali, nice to hear back about the gig. It's a shame about the poor quality sound but if it got better thats OK I guess. I expected the big singles to be the main highlights but I'm generally quite surprised they sang that much off of the album, especially with such a strong back catalogue. One question, who was the support act? This Message Edited On 05.14.09

First band was called Strikken City. They were shocking, their songs were poor and I couldn't wait for them to end cos I honestly got bored after about one song. I think they were a local band, so they might not be playing wherever you are.
Second was The Noisettes. They were much better. Dont Upset The Rhythm was the only song I recognised but they had others that were just as good.

good job.
although, i dont get the obsession people have with the word "whilst" these days. just use while argh FUKIN YES! Whilst is redundant. While should be used on all occasions.
Sweet, new Maximo Park. Downloading it now.
Why don't people vote on reviews anymore? People say "Great review" and no one has voted for it. I don't get that.

Thanks for the kind words RandyfromPennywise.

I think I am probably one of the worst offenders for using the word "whilst". In the first draft of my Mastodon review I had it 5 times in one paragraph - I need to get out of the habit.
Oh and Ali the Noisettes sounds like it was fun, although like you I have only heard Don't Upset The Rhythm
