Oh you better believe it.

Great review, of course. I like Kelly Clarkson but that's the only Idol contestant I've ever been into.

Who, what, when, where, why?????
Oh wait it's one of those flash in the pan reality success stories...right.
|
| |
is Cyndi Lauper's 'Time After Time'
No way what about Unchained Melody mate, or Hallelujah thinking of it. Plus Quietdrive's version of Time After Time is the best I have heard.

Idol rules, but apart from Running Back, Mauboy is fairly ehh.
|
| |
Running Back is her only catchy hit I would agree. Wes Carr looks like he is going to do alright for himself though.
|
| |
Love me some Wes Carr.

Thanks Trey. Yeah, Clarkson is the top of the Idol heap as far as I'm concerned also. I don't think Mauboy is near her level, but her age could mean that she has the potential to improve.
Ross, see the above comment. It would not surprise me at all if Mauboy was a flash in the pan, but her age means the ball is in her court so to speak.
Caleb/Ross, they are some good mentions of songs that have been remade many times. I can't argue with them. I've just noticed that over the past say 5 years, 'Time After Time' has been here, there & everywhere.
DavID, I thought you'd really like 'Burn'. I like its slinky, more subtler, feel. It tends to be catchy without being obviously catchy, if that makes sense.
As for Wesley, he's good, but I have the feeling he may fall in between demographics. I say that not having heard the album though.
Dare I ask if anyone is currently watching American Idol?

Burn is alright, but ultimately pretty passable.
I'm gonna get Wes' album soon. I figure it'll just be polished pop-rock, but should be good.
Check out his album with Tambalane. It's really nice.

Yeah, "polished pop-rock" is what I'm betting money on also.
Umm, forgive my lack of knowledge here, but what is a Tambalane? Is he/she related to Timbaland?
|
| |
Tambalane was Wes's band before he hit it "big".
On drums was Ben Gillies of Silverchair.

Ahhh, I knew there was a connection to Gillies, but didn't realise there was an actual band or band name.
|

Now you do.

As they say, you learn something every day. Although, there are always those that think they know everything in the first place.
|

That would be some one like me. Though being proven wrong on many facet's does not help my course. haha

Well, there is a difference between thinking it & fact James. When are you off on your cross-country trek?
|
| |
Yeah, she really worked to develop her image well, but other than Running Back and whatever the other single was this was a pretty average album.
Idol for me rarely produces anything amazing. There are the oddities such as Lisa Mitchell, Wes and a few others, but I couldn't name you the winners nor runners up for every year simplly because they just weren't charismatic enough, or just sucked.
