The review is ridiculously overblown.
Then write one yourself.

The hype cannot be ignored... downloading illegally as I type.

wow your review made me want to get this album
oh wait no it's just like every other gay, fanboy-authored, cum-slathered post rock review on this site. try to develop your own style instead of just writing like everyone else does.

cum-slathered? ok then dude.
review was a tad hyperbolic, but it was cool otherwise. personally, i think the album's excellent, but not to the extent that others see it. i hope you've applied for contributor adam.

well, every 5 out of 5 review has a twinge of hyperbolic fanboyism, this one is just a little over-done, but if he loves it, I can't blame the man

I love how people bash someone for writing a good solid review besides giving them good feedback. Thanks for the insight Slit. You don't really need to sell this album very hard, just improve on blending atmospheres, descriptions, while adding some background about the band (as some have suggested). I'll give it a pos. Hope to see more!

Dude, I really really like this review, and I actually love that bit that EC quoted. Seriously kids, this a music review if you want to read a bio, go read a bio.

thanks Massive, chewie, MTF. and yeah i have (:
slit, honestly, i mentioned it was my first post-rock review. i didn't copy or mimic anybody's 'style', that's just how my first p-r piece came out. i'm sure they'll get more idiosyncratic with time.
also cum-slathered and fanboy-authored? You Are There really didn't impress me. so quite simply, er...no.

Great review...very imaginative. You have a knack for capturing the essence of those fleeting, indescribable sensations one feels when emotionally moved by music. Funny thing...I kept being reminded of Blue Sky Black Death's Late Night Cinema, my favorite record in recent times, when reading your review. Your discussion of climaxes and flawlessly intricate assembling is probably why. From what I gather, LNC is to instrumental hip hop as HTTIW is to post-rock.
Anyways, I'm really looking forward to checking this out. I'm not a big post-rock fan, but if this record really is as monumental as you make it out to be, I just hope I can see the bigger picture and appreciate it for all it's worth.

To each his own I guess with the review, looks like its splitting opinions. I have to say, the writing's good, but just everything i mentioned before is my gripe. Definitely doesn't deserve some of the stupid shit its getting though

I agree. Thinking of giving this a 5... damn you, I wanted to write a review on this, haha.
