I remember when I found this for 10 cents at a flea market in a booth full of otherwise exclusively Christian music.

Love these guys but somehow never jammed this until now. Amazing album.

This is a great release. Probably the best of their goth-oriented style.

This reminds me a lot of Dusk and Her Embrace tbh. Just a bit more folk-ish at times.

This band were obsessed with Cradle of Filth in their early days. You read their interviews from this album and before, and they loved Cradle of Filth.

Yep. They were opening for Cradle around this time too I believe.

I wouldn't doubt it. Cradle and Type O Negative were two of the biggest early influences, according to early interviews.

I'm honestly not a fan of anything they do after this until Memorial in 2006. They were definitely experimenting with electronics, industrial, and goth influences and none of it really grabbed me.

The Antidote is pretty good but haven't heard any of the others after this/pre-Memorial. Night Eternal is my fav that I've heard but this is close.

For me my top 5 are: Night Eternal > Extinct > Irreligious > 1755 > Memorial

It's a discography worth checking out (despite a few duds).

I've heard 6 out of the 12 LPs. Gonna jam Under Satanae now. Halfway there lol.

def liked this more than wolfheart. still don't love it as much as most but a solid album. the clean vocals still just don't really do it for me. kind of irritating lol. some great melodies though, very rotting christ esque. i just prefer their take on the meloblack/gothic sound. more natural and less theatrical. quite liked ruin and misery, a poisoned gift and full moon madness. i'll prob jump to night eternal next.

Night Eternal is a lot more straightforward melodic bm. Think you'll dig it hard!

Probably their best early album, but these guys peaked later. The Antidote is my favourite, and Night Eternal is also great
