I couldn't agree more with this. The start is fantastic and few later tracks match the excitement. I can't put my finger on it, but this one is missing something that the 1st and 3rd albums had...

No way, the best AFL player is clearly Kyle Reimers, this time next year every player will be scared of him, he is god.
Oh and Davey, im calling you Alwyn from now on, it fits i think.

Well out of all those ingredients Kane, I think I'll put it down to the strangest; Water!

That was a nice little exchange Billy & Jim. Am I Alwyn because I'm as fast as a speeding bullet, as black as Nelson Mandela or my knee is as rooted as his?

Thanks for reminding me there was a review associated with all this dribble Croc. Umm, thanks for the agreement. You'd be surprised to hear that a few people actually think this is Franz's best album. What is it missing? I actually don't think it is much. Throw in another couple of really great tracks towards the end & it wouldn't be far off their debut. Like I said in the review, the track ordering does not do it any favours.

By the way, I was tossing up between a 3.5 & 4 rating to be honest. It's probably about a 3.7 & I mustn't have been feeling as kind as usual.

Oh, hang on a tick, I just realised what you were doing Croc. You had gone all reggae on us & were twisting around some lyrics:

"I don't like footy... I love it"! :-)

Davey, its not dribble! It is actually a quite intellgent conversation. Mate i have no idea, i just like the name!
Croc, your last post depresses me but i'll forgive you because your names Croc.
Getting back on topic, i've never really listened to Franz, should i have, Davey?

The first thing that comes to mind for this is giving it the summary "You could have done it so much better". hehehe what a knee-slapper.
The review is good as usual, but it seems like you went into it expecting the reader to have heard the band before.

Haven't heard this album in it's entirety yet. Will do that sometime.

I assume you're going for the discography as usual?

Good review, good album. I think that overall this is probably more consistant than their s/t, but there aren't any truly great songs on it. Do You Want to is catchy as hell but far too repetative, and I don't think there's anything else that really stands up to Take Me Out or Michael. What there is though is very solid.

Billy, I'm unsure if you'd like Franz Ferdinand. It's dancey/poppy/rock as such, but the rock part tends to come in 3rd in the equation most times. I'm certain you've heard the song 'Take Me Out'. If that didn't wow you, then maybe don't bother.

I believe you Kane. There is also a little bit of opportunism in the drinking water me thinks.

Steve, if I didn't like the album as much as I did, that would have indeed been the obvious summary. Fair call on this particular review and it is definitely a part of my writing I always attempt to keep in mind (since so many other reviewers do the same thing). My next review of 'Tonight:...' may do the same unfortunately, although in that case it is extremely difficult not to compare to the band's previous LPs due to the change in music.

Nagrarok, the above line will answer your question.

Thanks Ali. Is this more consistent than their debut? Hmmm, maybe, but only just if so. But I definitely agree that their debut has overall better songs. It was tough to pick 5 recommended tracks off the debut, where-as it was much easier here.

Fixed the minor complaint that I had with the last review, so I've got nothing to complain about apart from the fact that you still do negative reviews better imo.
The problem I find with Franz Ferdinand is that I've heard some of their songs so many times that they've just started to annoy me. Take Me Out being one of those.
