Herding the Brainwashed was my first excursion with ASP, in some random youtube video. Been hooked ever since. Finally got the album a few months back and can't get enough.

This remains my favorite All Shall Perish album and IMO the best thing they've ever done. The fact that this came out in 2001 makes it even better. Sure, this album sounds like every other Metalcore/Deathcore band on the planet, yet when it was first released it was playing a style of music that hadn't been standardized yet or had all it's best ideas used and then recyled and regugitated by every band in the genre trying to make it big. Then again, back in 2001 this was considered Metalcore as Deathcore wasn't even a named sub genre yet. That's why some of the best Metalcore albums were released between 1998 and 2002/2003. Then Killswitch came around and got bit and the genre quickly went to utter shit.



Hate. Malice. Revenge has such a dirty, almost saludgy sound which I just fucking love.
