It seems kind of odd how there is a "recommended tracks" part in the review when it was given a 0.5. I mean, why would there be any song recommendations if it's that bad?

It's strange, but I really like some of these songs. My God is one of the best, though the lyrics are ridiculusly bad.

OK, Never in my wildest dreams would i have ever believed i would stand up for Steven Seagal. I found this review like most of you did. Clearly this is a laugh of an album project. I used to review music for publications so i have to step in here and say that the reviewer has all the right to give an album a bad review, but to call a song and it's writer homophobic and racist is taking a very strong stand. If you go out on a limb like that you better have the proof to back it up. Instead what you have is a total misinterpretation of the song and it's lyrics. I think a child could have gleaned the meaning/intent of this song. I would never defend bad art such as this, but i will defend someone going off half cocked on someone else. Look at something closely before you use those words..you end up putting things on the internet that are false and misleading. Seagal and his project are not high art, but they don't deserve your uneducated insults.

okay, thedosa, excuse the double post, but i need to defend myself.



you have every right to criticize me, and i admit i took a few cheap shots at Seagal just cause it's FRIGGING STEVEN SEAGAL. and maybe i misread the song. or maybe you did.



the first time i heard the song, i thought the same as you. "okay, seagal's saying that his faith will save him and make him better than the worshipers of other 'gods', like money. that's fine. cheesy, but fine." but then, as i listened to the song again and again, i started to notice the lyrics - a part of which is reproduced above by Kris - are incredibly xenophobic. basically Seagal's saying that whoever doesn't follow "his God" - christianism, i suppose - is somehow worse than him. it's incredibly offending, regardless of your denomination. i'm a white man, an atheist, and i was offended.



and i don't suppose "a child could have gleaned" the contents of the lyrics, basically because children don't listen to lyrics at all. they only care about the beat. and most of the 9-year-olds i know would be bored stupid by this song.
