Pinkerton is the pinnacle of their carreer, after that it started to fall faster than a sinking ship. But the musicianship in this album is clearly Weezers best.

Why doesn't Rivers like this album? I went to the show at Nassau Colliseum in Long Island and the only song they played from this was el scorcho, and it was great! Before playing it Rivers said, "This is for the Pinkerton fans," and the crowd went crazy. Later we started chanting "PIN-KER-TON!" I guess Rivers just tried to ignore it.

That was a terrible review. You just wrote two or three sentences for all the songs and didn't really tell me much. Cmon, br3ad_man, I know you're capable of more than this.

Best... Album.... Ever from Weezer that is. The emotion is so raw and although ignored by alot of people when it was released, it should be in any fans library.

this album is amazing, shame that Rivers shuns it because he's such a self-obsessed dick. And Weezer's latest stuff is just sad

I prefer Blue over this anyday, but Pinkerton is still awesome.

Weezer was only good when matt sharp was the bassist. The new guy is terrible. I liked Weezer when they made funny music videos just for the sake of being funny. Lately they've tried to make their image a more serious one with Cuomo's wearing glasses and the god awful beard in the Dope Nose video.
I miss Matt Sharp. Good Bassist and a fun guy, judging by "The Good Life" vid.

Yeah, Weezer went downhill after Matt left...
When i saw Beverly Hills live at Letterman, i wanted to puke. Rivers has gotten so... Yeah.. I cant even describe it..

Blue has more moments, and Buddy Holly, But I don't know. I love this album. It flows greatly. And the lyrics for El scorcho are amazing.

I agree with the rating, but some of your inforamtion is a bit mixed up. Firstly, Rolling Stone gave it the Second worst album of the year position, but I'm not going to bother you about that too much. Second, Across the Sea is about an actual letter Rivers recieved while touring from a girl from Japan. As for "The Good Life", it is a great song, possibly the best on the album, but a happy song it is not. It's about the mundaness of modern life. An okay review, but just not enough about the songs.

This record is offensively overrated. The biggest problem with Weezer is their inconsistency in albums, and this album is a trip, because half of it is freaking awesome, kickass, etc. and the other half is as meh as meh can get. No bad songs, which is amazing to me, but 4 of the 10 songs are absolutely average, 4 Are amazing, and 2 are somewhere in between. Combined with the fact that I can take a crap longer than this album, and you have a 3 Star album.
And Rivers is a 1-Dimensional songwriter. He's good at witty songs about nonsense and songs about love, but those get old after a while and he can't do much else. I'd really like to review this album, but I'd rather do everyone a favor and not. There are a shitload of reviews for this already, so I'd rather review something else.
best line of the album = "If everyone's a little queer,
Can't she be a little straight?" That line pops into my head whenever I see a hot lesbian. This Message Edited On 04.23.08

Oh you have no idea, for the same price I could have gotten Radiohead's OK Computer, Soundgarden's Superunknown, Nirvana's Nevermind, Red Hot Chili Pepper's Blood Sugar Sex Magik, and a few others that don't matter as much.
