I personally really like the album cover for this record - at first glance it looks kind of goth, but with a closer look you see the images reflected in his eyeballs, the ladybugs and zombies, the red and the blue, and I think with the "zombie-ness" creeping up his face, it really fits the album's battle theme well. To me it's like everything he's done (I own most of his records): it's multi-layered and well thought out. When I see people dismiss him on first listen I genuinely feel bad for them. His records are the only ones in my collection (with the possible exception of Mr. Bungle's Disco Volante) that I can return to time and again and keep finding new things to interest me.
And in response to neptsasiare's comment:
Did you actually think he got attacked by zombies and escaped on a helicopter? I think you should read the lyrics again... she doesn't ever say it was ALL a lie, just that Castleton "lied about the way this went" i.e. the more ridiculous moments ("there was no helicopter, there was no great escape, there was no supermarket, no screaming car ride, no zombie chase"). The whole first half of the record seems factual to me... the fun part to me is to try to figure out at which elements of the second half are truthful and which resulted from his dramatization.
