One of Sikth's guitarists, Pin, is part of a new band with Jamie Hunt from Biomechanical. Could be pretty cool.

Yeh, although its been like a year and a half and there is still no sign of them actually releasing any music. It's bound to be awesome though.

Album becomes boring after a few listens.

Please review this Wizard. I swear, next time some dipshit posts another 4.5 Death Of A New Day review, i'm going to lash out on the innocent and it's not going to be very pretty.

It took me ages to like this album, like quite a long time. But now it is fantastic imo.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

This thing is a beast.

Great review man. I don't think the album is perfect (there a couple of weaker tracks on it) but it is pretty damn near. Awesome band, RIP.

I just got The Trees and am listening now. If it really is better than this i'll be pleasantly surprised.

btw if you guys like SikTh or Dillinger Escape plan, check out Cyclamen. It's a solo project by this japanese guy, and Mikee Goodman did vocals on one of his tracks, Sleep Street (which is on itunes labeled as "untitled). He just released a 3 track EP this year and its streaming on his myspace. It's pretty good. Like 3-3.5ish.

@ spoon of grimbo

Yeah, it oozes pretentiousness for SikTh, but thats because i picked a favorite album as a first review. I'm doing the new Psyopus album next, so it'll be a lot more objective and maybe a little less like a 6 way handjob for the SikTh members

I really don't like this band and how people seem to make them out to be prog-rock genii. To me they're a nu-metal band wrapped in jazz. Bad dynamics and wanky instrumentation. Hey, least they're doing [or did] something different.

Singing is nu-metal as hell so I can see where people are coming from there. Prog-metal? I think alot of people confuse tech with prog.

amen, dude. they also have hints of metalcore that cannot be ignored, both the commercial and chaotic forms of metalcore.

Well I guess I hear them differently. I've only listened through their album twice and didn't enjoy them.

Definitely Nu Metal-esque vocals, but that's not a problem 'cause they are done well and fit with the music.
