This is one of the worst Black Metal albums I've ever heard; weak song writing and engineering. Sound quality is lacking in many ways, and the album all together is sloppy.
Isn't that the point of a black metal band?

IMO, this is a great album. I like the atmosphere that happen to be created by the shitty sound quality. It makes you feel like you're on the verge of dying in complete filth. It so different from other stuff out there it's kinda refreshing. No wonder why it won a prize in Norway: "The album received the Spellemann award for best metal album on 2 February 2008.[4]-wikipedia".
Great review. You've put the work into it in order to give a description of the album. It's normal that some people disagree. It's a matter of personal taste. Me, I'm good with it cause I'm always looking for new stuff, different and to new extremes. A must if you're in the mood for a visit near the gates of hell. BTW though, the fact it sounds "sick" and "muddy" is exactly what I like. I mean I wouldn't listen to this all the time, but sometimes it kills when you're in the mood.
