RHCP over the past decade have become one of the biggest bands in the world and in turn has slowly lost what originality they once had.

Didn't think the review was worth reading after that. I don't know about you but I don't really confuse RHCP's songs with anyone else...and I can usually tell a song by the tone of the guitar, or instantly once the vocals start. That seems to be the opposite of unoriginal.

I know it hurts to like a band that other people know about. But give it a try.

Well By the Way was basically Johns album, and JF also created 99% of the melodies on SA. But the best Chili Peppers is always there live stuff, I would watch that before I even picked up there recordings. Just my opinion though.

Giving this anything lower than a 4 is blasphemy!

Seriously though, good review. Dark/Light is probably my favorite from this.

i know this, doesn't change the fact that their vocalist is one of the worst ever. in the history of music.

I don't see how you can really say that seriously

I know plenty of vocalists who actually suck

cough cough Brand New

And yeah I strongly disagree with the originality bit. You can hate on them for any reason EXCEPT unoriginalityThis Message Edited On 01.30.09

dude just cause rolling stone gives a band positive reviews doesn't mean you need to defend those bands to your death

Um maybe thats his own opinion?

And I would have to agree a little that Anthony Kiedis is not the best frontman, but there would be no Chili Peppers without him. And yes in recent years RHCP has become bland, but I think their first few albums majorly counter that. But I'm comparing past to present, which is kind of stupid. Well atleast 90% of the songs on SA had wicked guitar solos....

Why can't we all just get along and love the Chilis?

I thought Obama would make things easier

I would recommend listening to it, but you may not like it, or you may love it, who knows. I mean John is quite different then the Chili Peppers, but there are certain parallels that you may not like.

I can instantly tell it's a Nickelback song once the vocals start. I guess they're totally unique and I hate them because they're popular.

I will probably be checking this out, especially as the review said it was pretty accessible, added to the fact that I have and like "Shadows Colldie With People" and RHCP are one of my favourite bands ever. That said, in regard to the current discussion, Stadium Arcadium was boring apart from a few tracks, and would have been far better had it been a single album (also if it didn;t have retarded art work, but that's irrelevant).
