It wouldn't be a true Cocaine review without the reader being called an idiot and a little In Flames bashing.

Awesome review. Stuck on a 4 or 4.5. Might decide after physiology.

I originally had it as a 4 because I didn't think it surpassed Banquet, and it still hasn't, but it's pretty much equal, hence the extra half a point.

Theis album definitely sounds more Stockholm than Gothenburg s previously heard on Banquets. Awesome review, the title track is one of the best metal songs of 08.

Intestine Baalism are pretty much my favourite death metal band, so of course.

I'd heard of these guys before but never really heard much talk of them here at Sputnik and never bothered to listen before.

Cocaine had a review for Banquet in the Darkness, but it was very overlooked.

typo last paragraph: 'gimmickry' instead of gimmicky.
great review however. cereal ftw. and anti-breakdown... o_O

No, 'gimmickry' is right because he was using it as a noun. Look carefully:
The band manages to solo without turning supererogatory, to sound evil without gimmickry .

This album/band reminds me of Stormrider if anything but there really is no comparison.
