^ His name is Ben Folds. His old band was called Ben Folds Five. Most of his really good stuff was made with them.

I have to disagree with the negative aspects of this review. I don't really care if he has a funny song or not, the songs are pretty much all good and catchy and fun to listen to. I like his witty lyrics, and even though I may not laugh out loud I still am glad they are there. He does a great job of telling stories in some songs as well, which I like. Some of my favorite songs of his are on this record, it's another classic IMO.

First of all, damn you for the big avatar.

Second of all, you've used a lot of weasel words (thanks, Wikipedia) and haven't given any specific examples.

A break up album if any.. seeing as he just recently got divorced.

I wish he was back to the "Whatever & Ever Amen" days

Bitches Ain't Shit is superb but I haven't heard anything else by him and I'm guessing this isn't the place to start

Redsky's drunken comments on the first page of this thread made me lol. I suspect once I go back to school I'll have a few of those poppin' up here and there.

Anywho, agreed with the review pretty much completely. Out of my pure and unadulterated love for everything Ben Folds, though, I had to give it a 3.

"I wouldn't quite write him off as a talented artist just yet."

Sorry, saw this and just had to say:

What the hell??

This is Ben Folds we're talking about here, he *is* a talented artist. That's a given. Hell, even calling him "a talented artist" is almost an insult to him.

Sorry, that just threw me for a loop. I mean, this is who the Guardian called "the most intelligent and musically literate songwriter we have in the world today." Come on now.
