I think this is still worth checking out for people who haven't....August Burns Red has the same thing plagueing them as well as far as the breakdown thing....for a fan of the genre id say

ABR is incredible live, BOO is one of the sloppiest I've seen.
And yeah Thor, I can bet those bands will mature and write less breakdowns in the future, bands tend to grow with their target fan base.
The thing about these bands is they're young as hell. Like it or hate it, they're the future of death metal.

I'm hoping bands like these guys, Winds of Plague and Veil of Maya continue making music once the whole fad dies. They know how to write good melodic metal when they're not too busy making shitty brodowns

It seems like I heard 1 decent song by these guys a while ago but I can't quite remember what the name of it was...

I remember listening to some of this on the band's myspace and wanting to stay the hell away from it.

Probably Open Arms To Damnation. It's their most popular song, and it's also the only one on here that's really good.

After further research, you are correct, it was that song

I understand your lack of enjoyment of the album, but even for deathcore this is good stuff I'd say. Only complaints I have is that the album is too short and some of the songs sort of blur together and sound similar. Lots of potential in this band. Just sucks that scene faggots have overplayed the hell out of this album this past year. Bow Down is a good song and everything, but it gets old seeing every teenage girl on myspace with it as their profile song

Even if it's more listenable than a good deal of deathcore albums out there doesn't make it good. I don't think I should lower my expectations just because the genre is really disappointing as a whole. You said it yourself...

Pretty much all of them do.

I like this band a lot. Though I must admit the constant barrage of breakdowns gets repetitive. Reminds me of a slower-paced version of Veil Of Maya, but with cool synth/keyboard effects that mesh pretty well with the rest of the music. Those synth effects are pretty delicious.

lol another phantom neg. Was this review seriously bad? I haven't written anything in a while but I don't think it was particularly poor.
