Definately agree with fatkidinthecornr here, The Red Shore is definately toward the more technical end of the deathcore/metal scene. Whilst deathcore is not my cup of tea whatsoever, these guys throw in just enough variety (vs. the typical deathcore sound) for me to actually really enjoy this album.
As fatkid said also, these guys are now pretty much strandling the fence in term of sound with them progressing more to a brutal death metal sound. I actually saw them live last week and the Jamie went as far as saying that the band doesn't do breakdowns (which is really only a half truth). The guitar work was very good, with the technicality in the riffs and fills really shining.
Don't be turned off this album by the deathcore tag that is being throw around as this album is actually really good if only a little repetitive in places. This Message Edited On 02.19.09

I really wouldn't call this deathcore, at all.
It sounds nothing like Suicide Silence or Emmure.
The breakdowns, the very few that are there, are more like slams.
Half time =/= breakdown.

This review really highlighted some major issues with this album, and apart from Nephlihim, and Misery Hymn, Brutal but Boring is the perfect way to describe it.
I disagree with the fact they are mediocre musicians. Sure this album was a piece of shit, but they did quite well in salvaging.....

I agree with fatkidinthecornr, and that other guy....i dont really like deathcore either but this band/album is pretty technical and it is really good for deathcore.

I absolutely love this album, I think it's way underrated to be honest. Every track is gold.

Only band I know that this reminds me of this at all is Those who Lie Beneath and Through The Eyes Of The Dead. I'm not big into death metal though so I don't have an endless list of recs.

This is pretty solid for what it is, but agreed on it being mastered way too loud. No matter what volume you listen at it sounds overblown.
