Not huge as in moneymaking HoboHead (werent UYI 1 and 2 like #1 and #2 albums?) but as in quality. One use your illusion could have been legendary, but instead theres a few gems hidden among the rest "just pretty great" songs.

I didn't mean you being controversial Hobohead, the song is. I agree with UYI 2 being better, I've done the review on that as well if you want ot check out what I said about it.

It depends if you like the Rock side of this album or the Blues/Rock style of the other.

I edge to the Blues/Rock style of GNR really that's why I prefer UYI 2 better, but it is really down to the type of Rock it is.

'November rain' is up there with the greatest songs of all time. 'Don't cry' and 'You ain't the first' are other favourites. Good review.

Hmm, call me slow but I just got the album.

I always knew abt Guns N Roses and how great they were but i decided to actually check them out. I planned to buy appetite for destruction but then It was not in stock(Idiot Customs didnt let it thru bcoz of the name...)

So I picked this up, First time I heard it I thought, well ok not bad at all. After a few listens tho, I am starting to appreciate it. At the mo I am digging Dead Horse, excellent song.

And btw, good review.

GNR deifinatly has some of there best ballad style songs on UYI 1, but when it comes to the actual rock songs, they are definatly lacking. It kind of unbalanced

This is better than II. Coma is a standout.

Good review but i just can't listen to gnr. Their stuff just seemed dated 10 minutes after they released it.

You wanna talk about excess egos spilled onto music. About half of the songs on both 1 and 2 are ok to great, but the other halves are just downright awful. Dont even get me started on the tour for this too, with the extended band and the fucking horn section. I love horns, but not in Guns n Roses.

Coma is EPIC. Perfect Crime is a short intense blast. These two songs alone show that gnr could make a killer short and a killer long song.

use your illusion has it's good moments here and there i just think the material is quite as strong as appetite for destruction. It definitely proved to be the overall decline/downfall of the band that we know it was to be.
