Ouch.

i listened to a few songs off this and i didnt like it. not a fan of this band anyway

I have no idea what I would rate this...this album is seriously 10 times more gay than Clay Aiken and Lance Bass eating a foot long chili dog from opposite ends, but for some reason that makes me want to like it...

Hot Fuss>Day & Age>Sam's Town
Sawdust doesn't count as an album for me.

I don't get that... I mean if you want to get down at a dance or something, sure you can really rock out to Hot Fuss. But Sam's Town was just so darn good, the songs flowed beautifully from one to another and every song was quality.
Hot Fuss had some really great single songs but I don't think it was as consistently a great album as Sam's Town was...

This is a pretty good album so far. It's pretty much what I expected.

The review kind of sounds like you're afraid to back up your actual opinion on the album (constantly calling it "stupid" etc., as a safety net or something), or that you're even unsure of your feelings about the album. That's what I take from it anyway.

pretty good record
never seems to lose its flare as Hot Fuss did

You have to approach an album like this differently than you approach a high-concept record, it's the only way to give it a fair shake. The reason I say its "stupidity" is a good thing is because it is done in a way that makes the music fun, while still keeping interesting facets to it.
I think you really are bashing it because for the most part it is lighthearted pop music meant for easy consumption, which isn't a valid criticism of a pop album really. I mean, you can say all music should be judged on the same level, but thats a point I'll argue against day in and day out.
This is actually an incredibly condescending and false way to review pop music. Pop music can be fun, light hearted AND thoughtful, believe it or not. Stupidity is not a prerequisite. I'm going to go ahead and say, for me, this is their least enjoyable record. Mostly because it's tacky, hoakey and mostly just sort of stupid.

This album wasn't very easy to consume for me. "Human" rules but the rest fails at being as catchy etc. And some of it felt downright homosexual

it's like 'haha let's dumb down pop'!
Or, is it a good pop album transcends the fact that the genre, inherently, is simple and meant to attain to the masses?
Does a good pop song appeal to both the simple and complicated music listener?
Does 'Day & Age' do this? I don't think so no.

This album transcends genre
