After listening to it, its certainly not terrible like I was expecting, but it still leaves some bit to be desired. I understand that Axl varied the sound here from the bluesy hard rock of the original GNR, but it just falls flat in some places. Still, its not bad, and I'll take it over most other mainstream radio rock.

^ I doubt very many people would consider this terrible. The only people who might are those that think Slash is a God and any album that doesn't have him on loses 4/10 marks already and anyone Slash doesn't like automatically gets a 1/10, or something like that.

meh, I just don't like Guns n' Roses. I don't see what all the hype is about.

Definately was not a fan of this the first time I listened to it, but it really isn't that bad. The guitarwork, especially in certain songs, is outstanding. Will definately take GNR's new songs on the radio over Nickelbacks anyday. This Message Edited On 11.23.08

"Appetite For Destruction was really just a generic hard rock album with a few great songs"
Surely you jest. Appetite For Destruction maybe somewhat generic in terms of its riffing (I'm not even sure thats correct) but the attitute and balls that it came with was unparalleled and it has stood the test of time.
There's not one dud track on the whole album, unlike every album since, including Use Your Illusion II, which I agree is their best.

Dwap - Opinions. I know I'm in the minority saying that Appetite was generic, boring and feels dated, but there we go. The attitude I can see, but I don't know if it was quite unmatched. Nice to see that someone apart from me think UYI 2 is their best
And as for there not being a dud track... Well, I can't see how anyone can like It's So Easy. Guess I'm kinda in the minority there, too, but that's cool.
ironzep - I was really surprised by this too. When I heard the title track I though 'Oh god this is gonna be generic as hell', same with better, but it's actually a pretty good album. Not everybody's gonna like it though, it being GnR after all.
