think a blackened Hammerheart-era Bathory with a touch of Summoning and epic film soundtracks
Nice, that's what I was hoping to find when I started listening to this band... I'll go check them out now.

I wouldn't say that this is a terrible album, maybe just the dislike for Darken permeated into your listening a little too much without you knowing. Just never struck me as a bad album, maybe a little bland though.
BTW some pictures like this are plainly photoshopped, just look at the boots, shadows and pixelation dont match up, especially right (our left) foot.

Meant to say I'll check it out. I downloaded it yesterday night and so far it is a hundred times better than this.

However, I’ll just say what everyone is thinking. This dick sneeze has no clue what the hell is going on, in real life, music, or otherwise. Steer clear from Thousand Swords at all costs.
I swear, some of the lines on this site have my side in tears from laughter!
I really never thought of you as a funny guy Crysis. You need to write more reviews like this! The picture was an extra bonus of laughter and I thought the humour played well into how you were describing these guys without sounding like you weren't driving at a point. I've heard of these guys but have never bothered to check this out. May give a listen shits and gigs'.

Wizard, I'm not sure if you've seen my Urfaust review but it's along the same lines as this. I find the only way to approach albums such as this one is with a sense of humor, it makes the review way more fun to write.

I actually gave that Urfaust album a listen and I fucking laughed my ass off. I will give this a shot as well if it's going to be a laugh fest.

Fags, this album is one of Graveland's best, outshined only by The Celtic Winter. "LOL HE PLAYS WITH SWORDS" So?

Yeah Graveland is pretty awesome. Rob Darken is one weird motherfucker though.

Which means nothing - Paganini was thought to be possessed by the devil, Burzum kills fat people, and Trey Azagthoth is basically a D&D nerd.

You really have to set the goofy get-ups and moronic ideologies aside when listening to black metal. I have kind of a nostalgia for Thousand Swords as it was one of the first black metal albums I really got into (way back when I was 14 or so), but even today I couldn't say it's bad. None of Graveland's material has struck me as particularly bad really.

PS, who laughs at Urfaust? They're an outstanding band.

"I wouldn’t call Rob’s vocals raspy, nor screams, but more like a very phlegm-laden, gurgling cry"
Ya I tried listening to this after being recommended it from a friend. LOL! The fucking vocals are so atrocious, omg. Worst vocals ever? Impossible to listen to.
